Low-Fat and Fat-Free Are Just Plain
A customer recently confided, “I cannot quit considering
food. I just keep healthy foods in my home, nothing with sugar but that I
find myself running out to lunch to get cheeseburgers and French fries." Hamm White Plains Catering.
Something did not add up.
I created an eye-opening trip (yes, I really do this),
opened the fridge to locate just non-fat goods, from milk to salad dressings
and skillet pudding. There were several oranges and apples (she had been”
educated" in a diet facility these were the top fruits for weight reduction
), broccoli, and lettuce). From the pantry has been diet cereal, rice crackers,
rice cakes, “lean" rice, and several other “diet" foods.
Diagnosis? My customer is hungry.
Obviously, all she's thinking about is food! Of course, she is
exercising to get cheeseburgers and pieces of pizza at lunch! It isn't
important just how much"diet" foods that my customer eats. It might
be 3,000 calories-worth. She is hungry for her entire body.
What is the deal with low and polyunsaturated fat?
The simple fact of the matter is because we fill our
shopping carts with those"guilt-free" foods (and I use this term very
loosely since they really aren't foods)our waistlines grow larger.
Fat-free and low-carb choices are processed foods. To be
able to create in fat, it has to be changed in some manner. Frequently a
product that's been created"low fat" was made more palatable by
adding more sugar or even more salt. Products are normally high in
carbohydrates. The truth is that if we consume these foods, particularly ones
that are refined that are white, our insulin reaction to the glucose spikes.
This contributes to blood sugar levels and cravings, which is precisely why my
customer" can not stop considering food." This kind of diet increases
the risk of diabetes and causes elevated cholesterol.
Further, frequently non-fat and low-carb foods aren't
satisfying. They leave you desiring more. I'd rather my customer visit her
regional ice cream parlor and also have one scoop of very decadent ice cream
and revel in every lick instead of sitting down with a few"skinny" frozen
concoction where she ends up eating the whole box or carton since it
just"did not do the trick"
Most of us need fat in our diet. Period. Essential fatty
acids are provided by them, are a source of fuel, provide vitamins, and
maintain our skin soft. The key is to minimize (not eliminate!) The fats
derived from creatures' products and increase the polyunsaturated fats by adding
fish, seeds, nuts and vegetable oils oil. Reduce one, increase another.
